The long awaited Part 2 🙃

This is a long awaited part 2 of my previous blog and I apologize for the wait!
I promised I’d talk about my auto immune disease that I developed from my implants. When I had my explant, I wanted my surgeon to remove as much of my capsule and foreign matter that she could - without causing me harm or added risk. In doing so, of course some of my tissue was attached to those things. Because of this, my surgeon was required to send it in to pathology and when I received my results I was unsure what some of it meant. I had sent it to my rheumatologist and his response had me in tears. My pathology report stated that the tissue showed that around one of the implants I had higher levels of inflammation. He said it was so good I got them removed, that my body was fighting them! I couldn’t believe it, I knew what I felt and what I was going through- but to have it show in my tissues that my body WAS fighting was hard to hear, yet comforting at the same time. I had something to physically “show” or “state” that I wasn’t making it up.
Today marks 1 year. 1 year from my explant surgery. And in 2 weeks, it will be 1 year since my diagnosis of early onset Sjogrens autoimmune disease. I still struggle with this and I’m told it won’t go away but I can help lessen the number of flare ups and help with my symptoms through diet, supplements, and a few other “tricks” that I have learned. I say tricks but it’s really helpful things/tools that can help manage the symptoms.
I have struggled with my eating and my AI diet but I am determined to get back on track and better my body and health even more. I have learned A LOT over the last year and I’m still applying things as I go!
I am thankful for the support I had and continue to have. Here’s to continued healing and raising awareness!
🫶🏼

Danni
